Angotti-Smith Breaks S.C. Soccer Record

SUMMERVILLE — soccer player Courtney Angotti-Smith, who recently signed with University of South Carolina, has become the state's record holder for most goals at 222, according to MaxPreps.com.

According to the high school sports news website, Angotti-Smith "clinched that status Wednesday by scoring two goals in a 5-0 victory against Northwood Academy."

The previous record was 220, held by Bryn Post, a 2002 graduate of Richland Northeast High School in Columbia and a Clemson graduate. The national record is 286.
