Azalea Park Scene of Early-Morning Shooting

Dorchester County Sheriff officers responded at around 1 a.m. Wednesday to a man shot in the arm and in his side at Azalea Park residential complex on Orangeburg Road.

Tyriek Wise, 18, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, weapons violations, drug/narcotic violations — possession of marijuana — and stolen property offenses. Wise has not been charged with the shooting. 

According to the incident report, officers discovered Terrence Allen Staley, 26, in the kitchen of the apartment with a blood-soaked towel wrapped around his left arm. Two more bullet holes were discovered in the front door.

Witnesses said Wise had come to the door with a shirt over his face and began to kick the door to gain access to the apartment. Thwarted by Staley and another victim, Kenny G. Young, Wise allegedly began shooting at the door, according to the report. 

After a brief search of the surrounding area, Wise was located, allegedly in possession of a stolen .380-caliber handgun and marijuana.
