Bogarding the Evidence
An off-duty officer observed a suspect lurking in the bushes July 2. The smell of burnt marijuana alerted the officer to potential illegal activity. When he asked if the suspect had marijuana on him, the suspect replied: "I already smoked it all." But then the officer reached into the suspect's pockets and found a baggie with about three grams of leafy substance. The suspect said: "I thought I already smoked that." Questioning a man in an area with recent criminal activity, police asked him what he was doing at the apartment complex. The man said he was seeing his girlfriend who lives in Flowertown. The officer asked why he would be in Somerset to see his girlfriend who lives in Flowertown. The man then said he was seeing his sister at Somerset.
