X-pensive Charges

Reporting that her credit card has not been lost or stole, a woman described unknown Xbox charges over the last two months to the card.

The pool manager at Newington Plantation reported $25 and an unknown amount of Skittles were lifted from the vending area. 

Impulse Theft

A middle aged man purchased a clock from Wal-Mart on North Main Street. While exiting the store, he decided he wasn't done shopping and began pushing a cart full of return items out to the parking lot. Once detained, police asked why he had taken the cart. The man replied: "I don't know what I was thinking. I saw the cart there full of stuff there, so I took it." 

And Your Little Dogs Too! 

A Dorchester County deputy has been having issues with a neighbor, unhappy about her barking dogs. During an Aug. 24 incident, the fed-up neighbor yelled over the fence that he was going to get her and her dogs, too. No word yet on whether or not water will melt him. 

Leaf it Be 

A suspicious man drew the attention of a police officer at Creekside Mobile Home Park. The man drew further suspicion when he wouldn't reply with a straightforward answer if he was armed or not. The officer searched the man, finding a bag of marijuana. The suspect said, "I was walking home from work and found that laying on the ground. I knew I should have left it." 

F is For Fail 

A man suspected of driving under the influence is given a series sobriety tests. On the first one, the officer asked the man to recite the alphabet from F to Q. The allegedly intoxicated man simply said, "F," and then stared "blankly" at the officer.
