Blotter: Moon over Summerville

The following information was supplied by Summerville Police Department incident reports. It does not indicate a conviction. Warning: sometimes suspects don't use decent language.

Moon over Summerville
Tom reported June 24 that a Craigslist personal ad was being used with his name and telephone number. The email address associated with the now-removed ad was "shitonmetom@gmail.com" In the ad, two pictures were attached. One of picture shows Tom on a boat, and the other is of a white man's buttocks — which, according to Tom, did not belong to him.

My bad, Dad
On June 26, Police stopped a 19-year-old, who promptly gave his father's name instead of his own. Not duped by the clever ruse, the officers confronted the suspect, who then admitted that he had warrants out for his arrest.

Second time's a charm
Responding to a suspicious and damaged vehicle on June 26, a police officer discovered a familiar-looking, allegedly intoxicated couple. The officer said the last time they met, both were intoxicated. The woman responds, "I'm fine now." The officer then reminded her that they had spoken just 45 minutes earlier.

Slap catty
At a downtown bar June 18, a 39-year-old woman said hello to a man. She was then confronted by a 20-something that said she "did not appreciate her saying hello to him." As the offending woman went to walk away, the offended woman slapped her.

Shaken, not stirred
During a stop for reckless driving, a police officer became suspicious that the slurry-spoken driver was under the influence. When asked to stand outside the vehicle, the driver began shaking "uncontrollably." Either June 25 was colder than we all remember it, or somebody likes to drink beverages shaken, not stirred.

Courthouse rules
In the Summerville Municipal Court June 26, a man informed the police that another man had stepped on his foot. The alleged victim said it was "definitely intentional." The report was determined to be "unfounded."
