Book of the Week: The Privileges

The Privileges is the fifth novel by Jonathan Dee. It is a fairly easy to read and is a life study of four rich, spoiled people. The unnamed narrator does not criticize or condemn, but merely recounts periodic events in the life of this one family. 

The amoral characters may be moving towards something redeeming, but that "something" may only exist in the reader's imagination. 

Since the book causes one to think about the possibility of redemption, it is worth reading. As the book jacket says, it is "a timely meditation on wealth, family, and what it means to leave the world richer than you find it."
