Dorchester County Library aide Sylvia Vandertulip recommends Sue Grafton's V is for Vengeance for this week's read.

V is for Vengeance, the 22nd book in Sue Grafton's alphabet series of mysteries, is well worth reading.
This book again features heroine Kinsey Millhone as a private detective, who enjoys poking into other people's business. The story starts with Millhone witnessing two women shoplifting in an upscale department store. True to form, Kinsey reports the crime and goes after one of the perpetrators.
For her efforts, she is nearlyrun down in the parking garage of the store when one of the two women escapes. When the women arrested for the crime turns up dead from a supposed suicide one week later, her fiance hires Millhone to investigate.
