Christmas Day Dinner

I tried, but couldn't find a place in Charleston.

Perhaps I didn’t look hard enough, or long enough, but I couldn’t find a free Christmas Dinner in Charleston or any of the surrounding areas.  Maybe it is just me; perhaps I limited my search to much.  I couldn’t find anything in Charleston, or Mount Pleasant, or Summerville, or James Island, or Isle of Palms, or Goose Creek, or, Monks Corner.  Not even North Charleston.  The American Red Cross along with Bi-lo is hosting a free Christmas Dinner at four locations in and around the Myrtle Beach area.

I did see that a lot of Churches are hosting Christmas Day dinner for free all over the country.  Perhaps the ones in this area just haven’t learned how to use the internet?  One thing I noticed is that a lot of Methodist and Baptist Churches are hosting community wide Turkey Buffets on Christmas Day for local folks in need.  There were a great many from little towns all over, even here in South Carolina.  I guess the best way to find out is to go to a church and ask, even if you are not a member.  I’m sure they wouldn’t mind having someone ask that question.

For the life of me, I tried but have failed in my quest to help find a place to get a free Christmas Dinner.  That’s ok; it’s the thought that counts, right?  Perhaps there is someone reading this post that knows of a place where folks in need can go to have a nice meal on Christmas Day.  If so, please feel free to post a comment below.
