County Democrats Plan for November Victory

On Saturday, March 3 the Dorchester County Democrats met to organize its Precincts and get ready for the County Convention.

On Saturday, March 3 the Dorchester County Democrats met in three places in the County to organize its Precincts, a precursor to the County Convention which will be held at the Ridgeville City Hall on March 19 at 7 pm.

Over 75 County Democrats got together in St. George, Ridgeville, and Summerville where they organized the 72 County precincts, and selected delegates to the County Convention.   I have announced that I will run for a second term as the Chair for Dorchester County.  At the Precint meeting I emphasized that the Party’s job is to get Democrats out to vote and to get Democrats elected -- we plan to turn Dorchester County “Blue”.  Why? Because Haley and the state republicans like Mike Rose are taking our state off course – we need to renew our efforts on good jobs for Dorchester County, rebuild our infrastructure and renew our emphasis on strong public schools.

On the other hand Haley and Rose want to take the $1 billion state budget surplus and use it to reduce corporate taxes! We are 48th in the nation in public schools -- we need to have leaders that will do something about this.  This includes restoring public school teacher salaries, reducing the size of our classrooms, and giving our children opportunities.  We need to support Senator Matthews initiative to build an industrial park near Ridgeville with the appropriate infrastructure to bring in high tech firms which in turn bring us high paying jobs.  We need Democratic leaders that will support the Charleston port, not Savannah!
