Gardening in October and November!

Gardening and enjoying the outdoors does not have to end when the summer is over!

Crazy as it sounds, gardening and enjoying the outdoors does not have to end when the summer is over!  I am from Massachusetts.  I always thought that you have one season to grow a garden, and that was it!

Well!   Welcome to South Carolina!   You can enjoy gardening in all seasons!

After the spring and summer success and joy of gardening, you can continue to enjoy your outdoor hobby!   It is almost November.  Right now I have lettuce,  watermelon, broccoli, eucalyptus, and all types of spices and beautiful flowers!  Who knew!!?

This time of year is a great time to take stock of your garden.   Stroll around in your garden, enjoy the outdoors and just think about how it went this year for you.

Pull out any troublesome weeds or plants that you don't want to see in the spring.   Start planning for which plants you will try to grow again.   Try to decide where they will grow best and start clearing out there home-to-be!  This is the perfect time to clean out your garden beds of weeds and unwanted debris!

This is also an awesome opportunity to envision the spring and summer garden as you want it!   Cut back and prune any plants that you want to keep for next spring, and remove any that you just have decided don't work in your garden.

Each year you can get a better idea of what is best in your garden and what just isn't worth the effort.   It is hard to believe, but even though you are about to face the cold winter, spring will be around the corner before you know it!

And PLEASE don't tell me that you don't have enough space!   I have a SMALL house with a SMALL yard.   There are ways to utilize your space so that you can enjoy a garden!

Go outside, enjoy the air, the sun, and even the cold!  Start brainstorming, and before you can help yourself, you will be pulling weeds, trimming back plants, and admiring the beauty around you!
