Get On Your Bike and Ride!

In March of this year, two horses named Whisper and Traveler began their journey back to health at LEARN horse rescue. Many readers will recall their back story - horrific abuse, starvation, and neglect, so shocking and awful that it caught the attention of local media and beyond. Thanks to the effort of several individuals, the two horses were going to be adopted by Willie Nelson and taken to his ranch. Unfortunately, this plan did not materialize, and so Whisper and Traveler are still with LEARN.

I firmly believe that what is meant to be will be, and so it's apparent to me that these two horses are still here for a reason. However, as I'm sure you all know, the care and maintenance of horses is extremely expensive, and the more horses LEARN has, well, you do the math. So, one of the ways you can help offset these costs is to come have some FUN at the Steel Pony Ride and Car & Bike Show!

This event will be on August 26 at the Charleston Tea Plantation on Wadmalaw Island. Eddie Bush is the featured performer and there will be all kinds of fun for the whole family! Face painting, jump castles and other kids activities will be available as well as tasty treats from Jack's Cosmic Dogs, Margarita Man and Pot Kettle Black food truck. It's gonna be hot, but there will be misting tent cooling stations to help keep everyone comfortable.
