I love the Holiday shopping season, because I can be a complete jerk to everyone

YAY!!! No matter what my morals or beliefs, holidays are here! I can unleash the beast in me to make sure I get what I want.

I love the Holiday shopping season, because I can be a complete jerk to everyone, treat retail workers like dirt, just to make sure that I get the best "bang for my buck."

No matter what my morals or beliefs, all bets are off!   I can unleash the beast in me to make sure I get what I want.     The season is all about WHAT STUFF I can get.  ....Right?

I can trash stores, cut people off, lose my temper all for the sake of some stuff.

I can be as rude as I want, just to make sure I get those deals!!!   Because, again.... that is what the holidays are for.....  RIght?

You have heard all about the economic cliff....How we may not be able to get some stuff in the future.    We might have to just ... spend time with each other.    ......stuff may not be available.

Take a breather...  if there were an economic collapse....  if nothing was available to buy.... if we could not 'get' anything for Christmas....  would we have any other way to celebrate the holiday season?

Maybe, if we were not able to buy things....   maybe we could     ....be nice?

This is a challenge to us.   Especially if we claim to have some higher standard ....   believe in a loving God.....

If we are in line.....perhaps at a store....   and they don't have what we want to buy for the holidays......

Could we take a minute to remember....

It was NEVER about the stuff.
Part of the Holiday season is about the dignity of each other, and how we treat each other.

Perhaps we can try to refrain from acting like spoiled children who 'have to have' what we want at the expense of anyone around us.

Maybe, just maybe, we can not focus on ourselves for the holidays.

Maybe we can notice those around us dealing with life issues....

Perhaps it is the police man who just pulled you over.....   Perhaps it is the sales associate who can't find the item you want.   Perhaps it is the absendminded person in front of you driving too slow.   Perhaps it is YOU and ME.

We need to stop.   Consider what will really be an impact on those around us, and those that we love.      Will it be that they HAD to have the item that we clawed, threw a fit, was rude and fought for, or was it a bigger impact when they saw us modeling behavior such as patience, kindness, thoughtfulness.

-Especially when we realize that we may not be able to get more stuff.      -Maybe it would mean more to those around us...   to be a living example of what the Holidays are meant to be.
