Kaye's Musings....Determination

Don't give up.... there is always a solution.

Hi Gentle Reader, It's me again. Yep, and I have a story for you.

We have in our family two short haired Springer Spaniels. We spoil them rotten. Man, do they have the life. They don't ask for much except for food, a place to sleep and to go out side once in a while. Now gentle reader, here is the story.

We moved about 10 months ago. We left a house that was on a pond full of ducks and geese to a house with a fenced ing yard and several very large beechnut trees and plenty of squirrels runinng all around.

In our old house the girls didn't pay much attention to the ducks and geese, but the squirrels thats a whole different story. When the girls are in the house the are going from window to window looking for squirrels. and gentle reader, when we let them out into the fenced in yard-watch out or you will get knocked over. They fly out the door like bullets from a gun-full speed ahead. Day after day they chase the squirrels round the yard and up the trees. To tell you the truth, I think the squirrels tease the girls. But that's on my opinion. The squirrels get far enough up the tree and then look down at the the girls who are trying to climb the tree to get one of those little critters. It is so much fun to watch and the do it day after day.

One day Lady in her determination to get the squirrel ran behind it and was amost touching the little critters tail. They were off-full tilt going across the yard with the squirrel trying to get to the big tree in the yard. We gentle reader, the squirrel  made a leap for the trunk of the tree and made his escape up the tree. Lady on the other hand, yep, you guest it, ran into the tree and then started to shake her head for a few moments and then she started to look around for another critter to try and catch. You would have thought she had learned her lesson after that head banging, but to she was ready to try to get another one.

In the ten months we have lived here, everyday they do the same thing....trying to get one of the little critters.

Well gentle reader, there's a lesson to be learned in this little story.

You see the two of them everytime the are let out in the yard th go throgh the the same actions. Maybe some day one of those littles critters will be slow enough that they will get one. Who knows? The thing is they have been doing this for ten months with no results. But they have not given up. They keep on trying.

You know gentle reader, when we are after something aor trying to do something we should do the same. Keeping on to accomplish task before us and not give up no matter how hard or difficult the job at hand is. God has us doing that task for a purpose.

Remember the fishermen who had fish all night with no results. Dawn was braking and the were coming ashore with no fish from a whole nights effort. Tired and despondent that there whole night was a waste of time. I been there and perhaps you have too gentle reader.

For them, the fishermen tired, despondant and hungry had given up untill Jesus appeared on the scene teling them to try one more time....I'm sure they didn't want to but for some reason the did as He said. The results were they almost sank the boat and put holes in their nets because of so many fish.

I said all of this just to say that when th going gets rough push on. Don't give up, that's the easy way out. Keep on, keeping on, just as our four legged girls do. They can't call for help like we can. WE have Jesus on our side and He says, "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." "Greater is He within you than he who is in the world." "We walk by faith not by sight."

Well, I got to go gentle reader, and empty the dryer and fold the clothes. Ugh! See you next time. In the meantime keep on keeping on with determination and with Jesus.
