Summerville Farmer's Market in January!
Buy local! Stay local! Eat delicious and healthy!
My daughter called and said, "Hey, we are at the Farmer's Market, do you want anything?" I was surprised! "What Farmer's Market? In Summerville? In January?!"
Well, sure enough, we took a drive down Main Street in Summerville. "Across Main Street from the Visitor's Center," is where she said we could find it. We saw some people gathered in front of a coffee shop, and an art shop.

We met a few local folks who were selling amazing items! First, there was Sunny Cedar Farm, and Ace Basin, Turner Farms, and Shumpert Dairy!
The Sunny Cedar Farm folks were selling sausage of all types, bacon, pork, ham. Their animals roam happily on their farm. You can read more about them here: http://www.sunnycedars.com/ We bought a variety of their meat. So far it has all been delicious. It is also good to know they are not pumped full of chemicals!

My daughter, who has been concerned about buying organic, has been buying her chicken from Ace Basin. You can read about them here! http://www.facebook.com/pages/ACE-Basin-Organics-LLC/282726381754742
We bought some of the wonderful eggs and super delicious chocolate milk from the dairy! You will really want to treat yourself to some of their milk!
Afterwards, we wandered into the coffee shop. It was amazing! It has all sorts of goodies and treasures from local artists. You don't want to miss this great find! We ordered some of their rum chocolate coconut almond cheesecake.... (or something like that).... it was the BEST cheesecake we have ever had!
So....in case you weren't aware, we thought you might like to know that there really is a farmer's market in Summerville during the winter!
Do yourself a flavor (that's what I meant to say). You will meet alot of friendly folks, have the opportunity to try some amazing food, and if you would like, you can stroll next door to the art store! Take a little Saturday morning leisurely visit to this Farmer's Market!
