Time for Real Leadership – Vote for Elizabeth Colbert Busch

We need Elizabeth Colbert Busch to represent us in District 1 in Congress. Why?  First and foremost we need a Representative that is ethical and honorable. Her opponent has proven he is not – these are facts everybody knows about. We know that if he were a military commander like I was he would have been court-martialed for dereliction of duty, and for his largest ethics violations in SC History, and for his adultery. I go to church every Sunday, and ethics and honor do matter when we vote for our representative. 

We need ECB because we need someone that will support Jobs in the Low Country, and get our area economy moving again. She is a proven business leader. She knows we must reign in the deficit, and she will do that. But ECB will also fight for infrastructure funding in our area and the need for good high paying jobs. Sanford voted against the Ravenel Bridge, and was against dredging the harbor! During his Governorship we lost 98,000 jobs, and today we still have a much higher unemployment rate than the national average! We need someone that will support funding our infrastructure so private enterprise will bring their business and jobs to the Low Country. Sanford supports the Ryan budget that reduces benefits for our Veterans, will turn Medicare into a voucher system, and hand over Social Security to the private sector.

ECB will support public education – critical for jobs and our economy in this area.  Sanford does not seem to believe in public schools – of course he is (was) wealthy and his children went to private schools so it may not seem important to him. But to the voter’s good public education is critical. During his governorship he consistently reduced both the elementary and secondary education budgets, and reduced funding to our public universities so now South Carolina has the highest in-state tuition in the South!!

Sanford is not really a Republican; he is a libertarian out of step with the voters of the Low Country. His vetoes were overridden 90% of the time by a Republican legislature. We need someone in Congress that will say more than “no.” We need someone that will work with and for the Low Country.

District 1 needs a representative that keeps Washington accountable and will fight for jobs in the Low Country. Someone that understands the partnership between private enterprise and public government: a leader that will support our infrastructure needs, support public education, support our businesses, and will bring jobs to the Low Country.
