Time to Vote for 3 Great Women for Dorchester County! Miriam Birdsong, Patsy Knight and Bobbie Rose
Please vote for Miriam Birdsong for Dorchester County Council District 6, Patsy Knight for District 97 Representative, and Bobbie Rose for Congressional District 1

Tuesday is the day when we must perform our sacred duty and vote. And I strongly urge you to vote for three strong women in a state that is last in the country when it comes to lady legislators. These women understand the voters, and will put the people first in all their decisions. All have jobs as a first priority, and strong public education as a second priority. Each also believe that legislators are servants of the people, not the other way around.
I strongly support the re-election of Patsy Knight as State Representative for District 97. She has been so strong and done such a good job that she had no opposition in the last election.
In this election her opposition, a former Democrat, stated last week, “as a freshman, there's not a whole much you can do but learn and build relationships” (Summerville Patch, Nov. 2). We do not have time to send someone to Columbia to learn.

Patsy Knight is already working with Senator Mathews on several industrial parks to attract good jobs with a living wage to District 97. With Mathews Patsy got $1 million to help the county buy the St. George wastewater treatment plant, which is helping to expand sewer service throughout the region in the I-95 corridor. And in the past month the county broke ground on the Winding Wood Industrial Site, a certified site that is having water and sewer lines laid. Patsy also helped to land a Trident Technical College QuickJobs site.
We do not need a novice for District 97. Vote for experience and hard work for District 97 – Vote for Patsy Knight!

The Democrats, along with Independents and common-sense Republicans in County Council District 6, have a great candidate to vote for in Miriam Birdsong. She will make a great County Councilwoman. Miriam was tired of seeing problems go unresolved by an incumbent councilman who would not return telephone calls, so she decided to do something about it and run for Councilwoman!
First and foremost she will concentrate on being responsive to the people and their needs. Miriam went door-to-door in the entire district, and was able to become a petition candidate after the fiasco that de-certified 250 candidates throughout the state. She is a strong supporter of public education, and will do what it takes to ensure District 2 schools are the best in the state. She understands that Dorchester County needs to balance the budget while providing the infrastructure needed for growth and jobs. We need Miriam on County Council!
Finally, we need a representative in Congress who will support the Lowcountry. We need a representative who will get the Charleston harbor deepened so that good jobs remain and are not sent to Savannah. We need a Congresswoman who supports a budget that does not decimate the VA, turn Medicare into a voucher system, and turn Social Security over to the whims of the stock market – all part of the Ryan budget that Tim Scott strongly endorses.
Bobbie Rose believes in fairness and reducing the deficit in a balanced way. She believes the path to a balanced budget and bullish economy is through a strong middle class, not trickle down from billionaires. We need a real Congressperson, not someone who is interested in pandering to the radical right in hopes of becoming a Senator or Governor. We need Bobbie Rose in Congress supporting Dorchester County.
These are three strong women who are on the right side of the issues, who understand they are servants of the people, and will do the best not for themselves, but for God, Country and the People. Please vote for Miriam Birdsong for Dorchester County Council District 6, Patsy Knight for District 97 Representative, and Bobbie Rose for Congressional District 1.
