Charleston Deputies Investigating Lincolnville Shooting

Victim shot in the leg in Friday morning incident.

Charleston County deputies say a man was shot during an alleged robbery Friday morning near West Carolina Avenue and Boundary Street in Lincolnville.

Deputies responded to Summerville Medical Center for a report of a gunshot victim. The victim suffered a wound to his leg, according to a statement by Charleston County Sheriff's Office PIO Maj. Jim Brady.

The incident happened around 10:50 a.m.

According to Brady, the victim was walking from the track on Gahagan Road and was nearing the West Carolina-Boundary intersection when two men approached him, one had a firearm. A "brief struggle ensued," the gun discharged and the victim was wounded, Brady said. 

The suspects fled on foot, according to the statement.

Suspect one is described as 21-22 years old with dreadlocks and a teardrop tattoo by his eye. Suspect two is described as an 18-year-old, about 5-foot 9-inches tall, with short hair. 

Investigation into the incident continues, Brady said.
