"Thank you for reporting that; thank you very much," Dorchester County Council Chairman Larry Hargett said.

Johnnie Mae Clermont of St. Paul Community Park

Clermont asked county council to spare some funds for the St. Paul Community Park. She said the plan was to build an exercise path and a building to host an after-school program.

No action was taken.

Mac Baughman

Baughman brought a road issue before council. He said traffic is a "nightmare" on Old Orangeburg Road at the two four-way stops, including Butternut Road.

"There's always wrecks there," Baughman said.

Some council members nodded their heads.

"I had spoke with Mr. (Jason) Ward (county administrator) that with school coming on, we kind of foresaw this," Councilman Bill Heard said.

Ward said that according to the S.C. Department of Transportation, there are no intersection improvements slated for that area, but that the county was exploring the option through safety funding.
