County 'Dreams' of New Jail Site

Just weeks after passing a , county councilmen and the county sheriff visited 113 Isaac Dr. of Highway 78 Tuesday. 

When council Chairman Larry Hargett was asked why he was at the location with the building clearly for sale, he responded: "Just dreaming." 

According to county Administrator Jason Ward, the current needs are not being met by the county jail, which has a capacity of 150 and houses around 225 inmates at any given time. The council is exploring its options, which include either adding onto the jail or purchasing a larger building.
