Daughters of Colonial Wars Recognize ARHS Teacher

History teacher Keirstan W. Harris was recognized as the American History Teacher of the Year.

Keirstan W. Harris, History Teacher  at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville was recognized as the American History Teacher of the Year 2012-2013 by the South Carolina Daughters of Colonial Wars.  

The certificate and monetary awards were presented at the state luncheon held at the Forest Lake Country Club in Columbia.

Harris gave an enlightening talk on her Philosophy of Education. Each year a teacher in elementary, middle, intermediate, high school or college is chosen for “Outstanding service by exemplification and encouragement of Patriotism and interest in American History and in our American Heritage.”
