Dorchester Two Proceeds with New Policies
Dorchester County School District Two to enact changes to district policies on illegal substances, blood-borne infections and nepotism.

Dorchester Two unanimously approved second reading of changes to its policies on Monday during its regular board meeting.
Among the additions to the policies are:Â
- Defining nepotism as a conflict of interest for school board members and district staff. Adding that not only can family members not employ or evaluate each other, but they also cannot directly supervise or discipline.
- It is now district policy to follow standards by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the prevention of blood-borne infections.
- The addition of an amendment to the South Carolina Code that allows for confidentiality of sexually transmitted disease records. The district policy will not allow that information to be on a student's educational record.
- Look-alike substances or substances that mimic the effects of drugs will be treated as illegal substances on school grounds.
