Dubose Middle Student Arrested for Alcohol

deputies arrested a juvenile Sept. 15 at Dubose Middle School for allegedly being in possession of liquor contained in a water bottle.

According to the incident report, which in accordance with juvenile protection does not release the alleged offender's name, the student had allegedly taken vodka to school in guise of water. The student resource officer was alerted to the ruse by the "strong liquor alcohol odor."

In the report, the student said he had brought it to school to give to a friend for a party Friday night, but that the friend never took the bottle. 

After being charged with minor in possession of alcohol, the student was released to his mother, who told deputies she was "very disappointed" and that the alcohol had been in the cabinet so long she forgot it was there, according to the report.
