13th Annual 5K Race for The ARK runs August 25
Since 1999, some 500 runners and walkers each year from the Lowcountry and beyond have come to Summerville to start their fall racing season and support The ARK, Alzheimer’s Family Support Services. The 2012 Race for The ARK is scheduled for 7:45am on August 25, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue in Summerville.
The 5K run and walk winds through historic downtown Summerville. The first male and female runner to break the course record will receive $100 cash prize. The race features a Corporate Challenge. Companies can field a team of five runners for $350; the team with the overall best time takes home the traveling trophy for the year.
