Alice J. Cicenia Dinner featuring Linda Ketner

The Dorchester County Democratic Party has announced Linda Ketner as keynote speaker at the upcoming Alice J. Cicenia Dinner in Summerville.

Two notable Democrats from the county – Hazel Parson-Starkes and the late Kenny Waggoner – will be honored that evening, as well, for their many years of public service to the community.  Parson-Starkes was mayor of Ridgeville for 18 years. Waggoner served on county council for 34 years, and recently passed away on August 21.

Silent auctions throughout the event will close with an open auction at evening's end. The event will be catered by The Eclectic Chef.

This annual event of the DCDP is named in honor of the late Alice J. Cicenia, who once served as chairperson of the county party and vice chairperson of the South Carolina Democratic Party, and who was twice elected national delegate.  She received awards from the NAACP and the Guardian Association, amongst other recognitions, and was posthumously inducted into the South Carolina Women’s Council “Hall of Fame.”
