At Ashley Ridge High School
The Academic Awards Program celebrates high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors whose academic average for the previous school year was 90 or above. This year, 73 area students will also receive the Board of Trustees Award given to students earning a grade of A in every subject.
Each of the honored students will receive a medal, designed and struck especially for the Academic Awards Program. Seniors receive a gold medal, juniors a silver medal, and sophomores a bronze medal. In addition, students will also receive an academic letter from Ashley Ridge High School

Students being honored were provided the opportunity to name one teacher who has been an inspiration during his or her school career. This year 167 area teachers have been named as a Special Teacher and have been invited to attend the ceremonies.
Also, a senior award recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship donated by MeadWestvaco. The winners will be announced during the program.
