Evan Guthrie Law Firm Helps Provide Estate Planning At Habitat For Humanity Wills Clinic In South Carolina

Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina helped the Myrtle Beach community on Saturday February 8th 2014 to participate at the Habitat For Humanity Wills Clinic for Horry Habitat. Helping to run and organize the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division Event was a great pleasure for Attorney Guthrie. In addition, he helped to provide estate planning and wills for habitat homeowners in the Grand Strand region.

The operation behind the clinic is to provide free wills and healthcare power of attorney, and living wills for those that participate in the Habitat program. The Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar generously sponsors this program. The program works to hold various clinics and ranging locations throughout the year. The importance behind this program streams from the fact that once a homeowner involved in the program passes away, a potential for the home being lost arises if there is no succession in the ownership.

The process of probate may then become very difficult for a habitat homeowner without a will, considering multiple family members may develop an interest in the property. This program works to avoid those situations for homeowners. Attorney Guthrie was pleased to travel out to Myrtle Beach and help the Horry Habitat. Lastly, he sends a huge thanks to the community for having him.
