Fair Housing Workshop Thursday
Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments hosts public workshop at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on fair housing in Berkeley and Dorchester counties.

Berkeley and Dorchester county residents are invited to attend a public workshop focused on fair housing in the Charleston region.
Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments hosts the event which will explore housing studies and impediments to fair housing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Greater Summerville-Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, 402 N. Main Street, Summerville.
Another workshop is planned at 10 a.m. on Friday at the COG offices, 1362 McMillan Ave., North Charleston.

Participants will help create a regional Housing Needs Assessment and Berkeley-Dorchester Impediments to Fair Housing study.
As part of the study, COG staff will conduct two workshops with members of the housing and planning advocacy community, the development and banking community, government officials and the public.

At this workshop, COG staff will provide information regarding what the Housing Needs Assessment and Impediments to Fair Housing Study will address, help to define what fair housing issues may exist, and receive public comment regarding housing needs and fair housing issues.
