Fire Tears Through Miles Jamison Apartment

A fire consumed an apartment at 11 p.m. Friday at 300 Miles Jamison Road, displacing residents from three adjoining apartments.

The fire started in one apartment's kitchen as the result of a grease fire, property manager Michael Maider told Patch. That apartment housed a woman and her two children.

Maider praised response time from the Summerville Fire Department, Summerville Police Department and the Lowcountry Red Cross volunteers. 

"Everybody helped out," he said, adding that neighbors nearby brought clothing for the displaced residents.
