Fort D Wins 42-27 Over Irmo

Patriots show strength in both offense and defense.

Fort Dorchester Patriots had all the right things going for them during the home game against Irmo last Friday, which was reflected in the final 42-27 score.

After , the Patriots powered through 13 drives to victory.

Fort Dorchester may not have scored first, but the team picked up 21 points before the half and completely shut out Irmo in the last quarter. On average, each offensive play gained eight yards. 

Five of the night's six touchdowns came from the arm of Ethan Long. Receivers Devron Glenn, Rodney Gibbs and T.J. Smith took the ball in for a touchdown. Gibbs and Smith each got two touchdowns.

Running back Charles Loftland ran it in for a touchdown too. 

Long threw one interception that night.

On defense, Miles Moultrie and Josh Lightburn picked up a sack, which lost seven yards for Irmo.

This Friday, Patriots take on Beaufort in an away game.
