Game-ending interception and 99-yard return by Green Wave's Darren Smalls keeps rivalry tipped in Summerville's favor.
Although speculation circulated that this would be the first year since 2002 that Fort D would win over neighboring rival Summerville, Green Wave clinched the victory and kept the Patriots to a field goal.Â
In the biggest play of the evening, Green Wave's Darren Smalls intercepted a Patriot pass and ran the ball back 99-yards for a touchdown, making the final score 17-3.
Fort Dorchester, now 3-1, plays at Goose Creek next Friday. .
