Hi gentle reader, it's good to be back with you again.
Today I want to share with you some facts about Alzheimer's that you may not know.
According to the Alzheimer's Association:
More than 5 million Americans currently live with the disease. Did you know over 30,000 live right here in S.C. of which I am one.
In 2012, 15.4 million Alzheimer's caregivers maintained over 17.5 billion hours of unpaid care valued at 4216 billion.
More than 60 percent of Alzheimer's and dementia caregivers classify the emotional stress of caregiving as either high or very high.

Perhaps you know a neighbor who is struggling with Alzheimer's or perhaps is a caregiver. Have you thought of visiting that caregiver or offer to take her place for a few hours so she could get a few hours break from her care giving. You can also bring a favorite food dish, gentle reader, to help out. Let the caregiver know when you plan to do that so he/she doesn't prepare a meal. Another way to help is to offer to cut the grass or some other yard work. Little things like that are a big help to the caregiver. Perhaps taking the caregiver to a near by caregiver meeting would be a big help. I know gentle reader, you can think of other ways to help lower the stress the caregiver experiences daily.
Thanks for the read and prayers, and help. Talk to you later. Comment are always welcome.
