Increase in Water, Sewer Effective Thursday

Effective Thursday, town residents will now pay $1.75 more for water and $2.25 more for sewer per month.

The Commissioners of Public Works of the town of Summerville approved a rate increase for water and sewer charges at .  

The extra charges will appear on the monthly bills beginning October.
The increase is projected to create $1,200,000 in annual revenue. This is the first rate increase since June 2008 and prior to that the last increase was in January 1994.
