International Primate Protection League conference in Summerville!

The Summerville-based International Primate Protection League works worldwide for the protection of apes and monkeys and has a gibbon sanctuary at Headquarters where 36 gibbons rescued from bad situations are cared for. We help projects in over 30 countries. Every two years we hold a conference at our Headquarters and bring in primate protectors from round the world. This spring we will bring in speakers from Thailand, Nepal, Indonesia, Chile, Colombia, Morocco, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. Author Sheri Speede will be present and will sign copies of her new book "Kindred Beings: What Seventy-Three Chimpanzees Taught Me About Life, Love, and Connection."
