Less Trash, More Class

Public Works Director Richard Byrd briefed Dorchester County Council on his staff's effort to clean up three of the 12 convenience sites during this month's regular meeting of the public works, property and utilities committee in Summerville. 

"We're off to a start on this," Byrd said.

After these three sites are cleaned up, the county will then look to clean up another three, until all 12 are done. 

The current sites undergoing beautification are  St. George, Knightsville and Givhans. Click here to see all of the convenience sites in the county.

Keep Dorchester County Beautiful and a Master Gardener have helped with the projects that include landscaping and erection of custodial huts for employees.

All improvements are kept low-maintenance, according to staff.
