Update: Man Shot on Ridge Road
Dorchester County deputies respond to shooting Wednesday.

A man was shot in his abdomen Wednesday at a Ridgeville residence, according to Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Maj. John Garrison.
Willie Foy, 47, was flown by helicopter to MUSC and his current condition is not known. The details are still being sorted out but the man who allegedly shot Foy is claiming self defense.
Dorchester County deputies responded 12:40 p.m. Wednesday to 1015 Ridge Road in Ridgeville to a call for a disturbance and aggravated assault, according to the incident arrived.

Before they arrived a shooting took place where one person was shot. Deputies arrived and found Foy lying in the front of the residence bleeding.
According to witnesses, Foy was allegedly shot by 83-year-old Ernest Hines, who said Foy had chased and beaten him with a metal level. He claimed Foy was trying to kill him and he had shot in self defense.

According to the responding officers, while Foy was being treated for his wound, he yelled that he would kill Hines and that Hines had better be gone when he gets out of the hospital.
Both men are listed as residents of 1015 Ridge Road.
