Match Lights Accidental Fire
Quail Arbor fire started when a child dropped a match on a couch, according to report.

A 9-year-old boy with hearing impairments allegedly playing with matches lit an accidental fire around 7 a.m. Sept. 18 at Quail Arbor.
While en route to the scene, were told a woman was trapped on the second floor of the residence. However, by the time deputies arrived, the woman had climbed out of the residence, using a neighbor's ladder, according to the report.
The boy's mother complained of shortness of breath and EMS transported her to the hospital. A deputy noted in the report that she had "soot caked on her bottom lip from breathing the smoke-filled air."

No other injuries were reported.
According to the report, which took the statement from the mother, who had spoke to the boy in sign language, the boy had climbed on to a cabinet to retrieve the matches. He was playing with the matches and dropped one on the couch after burning himself, the report states.
