Meet the Dorchester County Democratic Chairman

Dorchester County Democratic Chairman Richard Hayes shares his thoughts on politics in the town and surrounding county.

According to county Board of Elections, 43.02 percent of registered voters turned out in the 2010 elections. Of those voting "straight ticket," 54.31 percent voted Republican and 41.59 percent voted Democratic. While the county's rural areas have blue precincts, the Summerville precincts has traditionally voted red.
