Motorcyclist Dies on Berlin G. Myers Parkway

Jason Eric Harrison, 43, of Moncks Corner died Sunday after a single-vehicle wreck with his motorcycle near the intersection of Berlin G. Myers Parkway and Highway 78 in Summerville.

The wreck happened at around 8:15 p.m., and the driver was not wearing a helmet, according to Dorchester County coroner Chris Nisbet. 

Summerville Police responded. Harrison died on scene.

South Carolina does have a helmet law, but it only applies to motorcyclists under the age of 21. 

S.C. Department of Transportation reported Monday that 94 motorcyclists have died in the state since Jan. 1, an increase over the same time period in 2010.
