Notes on Votes: Summerville Council Feb. 8

Summerville Town Council met Feb. 8 for its regular meeting. Here are the votes:

  • Council unanimously voted to pass a petition to annex 818 Central Ave. to be zoned B-3, general commercial.
  • Council unanimously passed second and final reading of an ordinance to annex 180 Westvaco Road and amend development Parks of Berkeley, known as the Sheep Island Tract, to be zoned planned unite development.
  • Council unanimously passed second and final reading for the development agreement regarding Parks of Berkeley. 
  • Council voted 6-0, with Councilman Bill McIntosh abstaining, to deny first reading of an ordinance to rezone two parcels at the intersection of Old Trolley Road and Canal from R-2, single family residential, to B-2, general business. 
  • Council unanimously passed first reading of an ordinance to redistrict town districts.
  • Council unanimously passed first reading of an ordinance to amend the flood section Buildings and Building Regulations, which would update the town's floodplain management ordinance to correspond with FEMA's model ordinance.
