Planning Committee Meets Today

Town Planning and Development Committee will discuss a rezoning request 4 p.m. today at Town Hall in Boardroom A. 

Councilmen William McIntosh, Walter Bailey and Bob Jackson sit on the committee. It will be the first time this committee meets since it was assigned.

The proposed rezoning request is by Gary W. Pollard for 821 W. Richardson Ave. It is currently zoned R5, Mixed Residential, and upon rezoning to be zoned B3, General Business. 

The town's Planning Commission addressed the matter June 20, and suggested Pollard withdraw his rezoning request since it would be denied due to it being "spot zoning." 

Pollard was advised that if the matter is brought before town council and denied, he would have to wait another 12 months before taking up the issue again.
