Republican Challenges Rep. Knight
Jordan Bryngelson considers his own bid for District 97 seat.
An active member of the Dorchester County Republican Party and Summerville businessman, Jordan Bryngelson, has announced he is considering a challenge to Democratic incumbent Rep. Patsy Knight of District 97, which includes most of Dorchester County.
He will make a statement during the 10th anniversary Lowcountry Conservative Breakfast 8 a.m. Saturday at . In a press release, Bryngelson said the announcement will be "a discussion on bringing jobs and education back to South Carolina and the residents of House District 97."
Knight has served in the State House since 2006. She was the Dorchester County treasurer for 26 years before her successful bid for the state legislature.

Partisan candidates must file between March 16-30. Party primaries will be held June 12.
