Summerville Pastor Charged in Two 2010 Incidents

Dale Richardson, the former pastor of Freedom Free Will Baptist Church, has been denied bail again with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of criminal sexual conduct in Dorchester County.

A man facing charges in three jurisdictions on allegations of kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct has now been charged with two new incidents in Dorchester County.

Dale Richardson, 46, of Summerville is charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of criminal sexual conduct for incidents dated Jan. 5, 2010, and Aug. 12, 2010.

Richardson was denied bond because of "the fact that you may be a danger to the community," said Judge Arthur Bryngelson Thursday at the Carl Knight Magistrate Complex.

Richardson currently resides at the Charleston County jail, . 

His North Charleston charges include two counts of kidnapping and possession of a firearm for a July 27 incident, that allegedly happened days before his arrest. His Summerville charges include kidnapping, first-degree assault and a weapons violation for a June 21 incident.

The new charges today join his previous Dorchester County charges for two counts of criminal sexual conduct for the July 27 and Aug. 12, 2010, incidents. 

Richardson is reportedly no longer the pastor at Freedom Free Will Baptist Church in Ladson, and had his .

According to the incident reports released, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office linked the 2010 incident to this year's incidents through the similar details such as the victim being bound, a hood placed over her head and a handgun was used to make the victim comply. 

According to the August 2010 incident report, the victim positively identified Richardson and the location of the incident was the mobile home on church property, like the July 2011 incident where he was previously charged in Dorchester County and in North Charleston.

In the latest and oldest incident report to be released, dated Jan. 5, 2010, the victim, not identified by sex, told officers he or she was hitchhiking when the suspect picked him or her up in a red Chevrolet truck. The driver allegedly drove the victim to a dirt road where he or she was allegedly force to perform oral sex at gun point.
