Rosebrock Endorses Carroll Duncan for His Seat

As candidates announced their campaigns during the Dorchester County GOP Executive Committee meeting Thursday, County Councilman Richard Rosebrock announced his departure from the political arena and named the party's Chair Carroll Duncan as the best candidate to take his place. 

Duncan, visibly moved by the councilman's words and legacy, accepted his endorsement and, in turn, announced her run to represent District 5.

Rosebrock has served the county since May 1993. Talking briefly with Patch, he said he wants to be known as a Christian who always voted his convictions. He conceded that some expenses, , were necessary even though it irked his frugal values. 

Duncan, who is still in a wheelchair from , said she and Rosebrock had talked about the seat since Summer 2011. She said she wasn't ready to make an announcement until now, having consulted her family, friends and supporters.

• Treasurer Mary L. Pearson. 
• Rep. Jenny Horne, running for reelection for District 94. 
• Rep. Chris Murphy, running for reelection for District 98.

Candidates begin filing March 16 through March 30. Inter-party primaries will be held June 12.
