Search Suspended for Summerville Man in Orange Beach

According to media reports, 32-year-old Eric Pye was wading near the beach's edge when he was dragged into the Gulf of Mexico last weekend at Tropical Storm Debbie was threatening the coast.

The search for a missing Summerville man in Orange Beach, Ala., has been called off.

Eric Pye, 32, was thought to be dragged in to the Gulf of Mexico last weekend while Tropical Storm Debby churned in the waters off the coast.

According to News Radio, dozens of searchers tried to located the man during the 5-day search using boats and sonar. As of Thursday night, the crews had failed to locate him.

His wife, Audrea, asked for prayers Sunday on her facebook page.

The couple had just married on June 8, according to WLBT.com and were on a family vacation.
