Shots Fired Near Summerville High

An investigation is underway after shots were fired near Summerville High School at around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Summerville Police PIO Capt. Jon Rogers, the responders are still working out which jurisdiction the shots were fired from. The shooter has not been located. No injuries were reported. 

It was determined the incident took place around 1130 Boonehill Road, according to police. Several shell casings were recovered.

Summerville Police have released a statement saying the shots came from the rear of the building. 

However, according to Dorchester Two spokeswoman Pat Raynor, the school's resource officer reported seeing a vehicle driving down Boonehill Road during dismissal time. As the vehicle neared the Tastee Freeze, shots were fired in that direction and not toward the school, Raynor said.
