Sluggers and All-Stars Take Field Today

The Summerville Sluggers and the Summerville Little League All-Star Team are up to bat today at the conclusion of the Fun in the Sun baseball tournament at Jerry Blackwell Sports Complex at Gahagan Park. 

The 16-and-under Sluggers, a USSSA baseball team, played two games yesterday. The team won 10-9 against the Storm Watch of Charleston. Later, as the storms rolled in, the team played against the R.B.I. Baseball of downtown Charleston. 

The 14-and-under All-Stars lost their first game Saturday 4-3 to the Crusaders, but turned around for a win later that day. 

The All-Stars will play at the Little League Junior State tournament July 21-24 at 800 W. Boundary St.
