Special Delivery to Lieber Intercepted

Dorchester County deputies and Lieber Correctional Institution guards discovered a package containing 17 ounces of drugs and two abandoned vehicles Tuesday after guards were alerted to a man crouching in the bushes on the prison's property. 

The man ran down Campbell Thicket Road, and guards called deputies to assist at around 6:15 a.m., according to the incident report. 

While searching inside perimeter fence, guards discovered a vacuum-sealed 10-inch-by-6-inch package containing 17 ounces of marijuana.

Deputies discovered two abandoned vehicles within a half mile of the location. One registered to Clifton Tolbert of Charleston and the other registered to James Washington of North Charleston, according to the report. K-9 units alerted on the vehicle owned by Tolbert, and the vehicle was impounded. 

The suspect seen crouching in the woods was described as a black man wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and burgundy skull cap, according to the report.
