Student Allegedly Shoots Others with Pellet Gun

Ladson Elementary student charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds and six counts of assault and battery third degree.

An 11-year-old Ladson Elementary student was arrested by a Charleston County Sheriff's deputy after he allegedly brought a pellet gun to the school Monday, shot two students in the leg, attempted to shoot two other students and pointed the gun at two more.

The incident occured Monday, but was not reported until about 10 a.m. Tuesday. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The student has been charged with one count of possession of a weapon on school grounds, and six counts of assault and battery third degree. The student was released to parents on a Family Court Custodial promise to appear.
