Student Charged with Knife Possession

Summerville Police arrested and charged a 14-year-old Alston Middle student for carrying a weapon on school property Oct. 5.

Police do not release the names of arrested minors. 

The student allegedly had a 2.25-inch lock blade knife in his bag in his locker, according to the incident report. He stated in the report that he realized the knife was in his pocket when boarding the school bus, so put it in his bookbag. 

The student was being disciplined for an unrelated fight when the alleged possession of the knife was discovered by the school staff, according to the report.
