Summerville Man Accused of Neglecting Horses

Berkeley County Animal Control seizes four horses.

The Post and Courier reports that Berkeley County Animal Control has charged a Summerville man with three counts of failure to provide care or treatment for a diseased or injured animal; three counts of failure to provide humane treatment to animals; and one count of failure to provide adequate food and water.

According to officials, Dwight Benjamin McCloud of Old Dairy Road has four underweight horses, and one suffered severe burns from an unknown substance. 

The Post and Courier reports that the charges could result in a fine of up to $1,092.50 or up to 30 days in jail for each.
